As you may well know, the World of Warcraft TCG World’s Qualifier will happen this Saturday at our shop. Here are some pics to show you what you can possibly win:

This will be one of the biggest event for World of Warcraft TCG in Malaysia, and we are proud to be hosting. The World’s Qualifier will hit our shores on Saturday, 31st July at 12 noon. So, remember to mark your calendars and start dusting off those WoW TCG knowledge of yours.

Here are the essential details:

Malaysia’s World’s Qualifier

Time: 12 noon

Format: Limited
Admission: RM90 (2 x Scourgewar and 4 x Wrathgate boosters)
Top 8 draft: 1 x Scourgewar and 2 x Wrathgate boosters

How do you register? You can register before the event at Toybox, or SMS your registration to Ong (+60123755366) or email it to ong@toybox.com.my

And early birds only has to pay RM80! This early bird promotion will end on 29 July 2010.

What are the prizes? A travel package of US$1000 will be given to the highest placed finisher in the top 8 only if he/she is confirmed going to the World Championship. Other prizes are as below:

A Visit by Eric M. Lang

It is not everyday that you get a game designer to visit your store, so we were pleasantly surprised when Imagine Games told us that Eric M. Lang – the creator of Midgard, Call of Cthulhu LCG, Game of Thrones LCG and Warhammer Invasion LCG was going to pop by our store.

Eric was busy signing copies of his famous LCG games and spent time chatting with us about the direction of the game, his thoughts and answering any random questions we had for him.

Extremely friendly and we are glad that he decided to pop by Malaysia after SPORECON and also decided to come over to our shop. If you are reading this, thank you and it was great hosting you briefly.

Now, how do we get Reiner Knizia over here?

I know we have been quiet but we have been quietly working in the background. Not only are we ready to show you our online store at http://store.toybox.com.my, we also have a bunch of new games coming in.

Let’s talk a little about the online store. It has been a long time coming and it has gone past our beta phase. Still some stuff to iron out but it is pretty much all there. You can order stuff. While branded Toybox, it is run by a third-party partner of ours and we are in the midst of delivering part of our stock for them. So hang in there, soon, you will have a proper online store to play with.

Should We Change Our Business? :P

Forget the stupid name, forget that it doesn’t have support for Flash/ Java, forget that it doesn’t have a camera, the Apple iPad can still bring electronic board games to a new level. Animations and lower cost since there isn’t a need to print and make stuff out of plastics or wood, board games could yet be made even more accesible than it is now.

In case you are wondering how you can play with friends, well you can go through Wifi. Now we just need all our friends to splurge US$499 (minimum) on this product.

Should we start looking at a change in our business? Maybe an official Mac store instead.
